Lakeshore Coordinating Council hosts the required communicable disease trainings for substance use disorder professionals in the Lakeshore Region at least three times per year. Two levels of training are offered and meet the required training content established by MDCH/ODCP for substance use disorder professionals.
Scholarships may be available for contracted agencies to send their staff to communicable disease related trainings that are not provided by LCC. Scholarship applications are not required for the Level 1 or Level 2 training which are free but require pre-registration. For the scholarship application form and instructions click here.

Level 1 Communicable Disease Training
All substance use disorder program staff are required to have basic knowledge regarding communicable diseases, which can be met through Level 1 Communicable Disease Training.

Space: Limited to 30 participants per workshop

Clinicians serving clients in a treatment setting are required to have an expanded level of training on HIV/AIDS, TB, hepatitis and STD, which can be met through Level 2 Communicable Disease Training. It is not necessary to attend Level 1 prior to this training. Level 2 meets all necessary requirements.

On-Site Training Availability
LCC will pay for the training team to come to LCC funded agencies and provide the Level 1 or the Level 2 training for your staff. LCC has resources for up to 10 agencies to take advantage of this opportunity per year.
LCC may request that you allow participants from nearby agencies to participate if you have a small number of staff to receive the training. Each agency will be responsible for providing the training space and any refreshments required.
